My James Bond On Vinyl

I've been sorting through my James Bond collection over the past week and came across all my vinyl LP's.  Now as you can see below my vinyl collection is hardly extensive.  I have five 12 inch LP's, one extended play 12 inch and seven 7 inch singles.

I haven't played these albums in years although I suspect the James Bond Greatest Hits album (from 1981 so up to "For Your Eyes Only") was played so often, when I was younger, the grooves are well worn.  I haven't checked but I hope my copy of "From Russia With Love" is an original from 1963.  I've had it for about 30 years and it's in great condition.  The other 12 inches were all purchased in the 1980's when the related films were released.

And here's my 7 inch singles.  If you follow this blog you'll know I purchased Lani Hall's "Never Say Never Again" single last year.  My copy of Shirley Bassey's single "Goldfinger" was purchased from a secondhand record store around the same time as "FRWL" above.  There's two copies of Duran Duran's "A View To A Kill", one standard and the other a limited edition double fold sleeve with a white vinyl single.  The remaining singles are standard, again purchased when the related films were released.

The last 12 inch album below is titled "Lani Hall - Collectables".  When "Never Say Never Again" was released in 1983 there was no accompanying soundtrack, so here in Australia the only way I could purchase the song was to go to the music section at a department store (Myer) and create a special order.   Sadly "NSNA" was the only song I liked from this album so I would have to repeatedly keep placing the needle just before the start of the track.

As for adding to this collection in the future, I'd only consider purchasing 7 inch singles and only if they were cheap, in great condition and in their original sleeves.   But I'm not actively searching for them.
