PizGloria Website Celebrates 13 Years !

Yesterday my website PizGloria.com celebrated it's 13th Anniversary.  When I launched the website back in 2012 I had no idea how long it would last and I'm both pleased and very appreciative to everyone who has visited.  I hope you enjoyed your time at the site and found it a great James Bond resource.

Here's some stats from Google Analytics from the last 12 months:

I'm constantly updating the site with new James Bond books and editions that I've acquired for my collection.  And I've also spent the past few months working on a new feature that finally changes my site from just showing cover images to now showing book images.  It will require me to re-scan almost 700 books, which will obviously be a lot of time and effort, but I believe it will be well worth it.  Here's some examples of what the new feature looks like:

The first version of Ian Fleming's "Casino Royale" ever published by Pan Books in 1955.  Now click the spin button !

The most recent James Bond continuation novel, Charlie Higson's "On His Majesty's Secret Service" published by Ian Fleming Publications in 2024.  Click on the cover image and the 3D book image will appear for this title.

The latest title in the "Double O Trilogy" series, Kim Sherwood's "A Spy Like Me" published by William Morrow and Hemlock Press in 2024.  Click on each cover image and the 3D book images will appear for each of these titles.

And the final books I've re-scanned so far, John Gardner's "Sniper Series" published by Coronet Books in 1985/1986.  Again click on each cover image and the 3D book images will appear for each book in this series..

The 3D book images aren't perfect but I think it's a good start.  As well as the spin button the normal left, right, up and down finger swipes work as well as the same keys on a keyboard.   I just hope I will have re-scanned every book by this time next year !

And thanks again for visiting, cheers Baz

Ps. I'd also like to thank my patient editor-in-chief, my wife, who always shows enthusiasm for my website and collecting.

More Ballarat Book Hunting

During our recent holiday to Halls Gap my wife and I not only visited a number of secondhand book stores, which I mentioned in my last blog post, but also dropped in on a number of other book stores and op-shops.

1) Ballarat Vintage & Collectables Market, Ballarat

This large undercover market has hundreds of stalls including several selling secondhand books.

2) Collins Booksellers, Ballarat

Collins Booksellers first opened in Australia in 1922.  They are now a "national group of independently owned franchise bookstores".

3) Vinnies, Ararat

Vinnies op-shops are operated by St. Vincent de Paul Society all around Australia.  This store in Ararat sells hundreds of donated books.

4) Church Op-Shop, Ararat

This op-shop is run by the Anglican Parish of Ararat.

5) Bookworm Gallery & Opportunity Shop, Stawell

Inside this large building are hundreds of books for sale, as well as antiques, bric-a-brac and donated clothes.

6) Salvation Army Op-Shop, Stawell

This Salvos op-shop contained in a massive warehouse has hundreds of books for sale as well as many other well loved donations.
