A Work Trip To Sydney

Two weeks ago I travelled to Sydney for work.  While there I managed to drop by Kinokuniya Books.  

This is the only bookstore I've visited in Oz where I've seen the entire series of recent Ian Fleming Publications of James Bond novels available for purchase.

Sadly no new books for me but it was great to visit the store again.

On my return to Melbourne I found these parcels had arrived containing some recent online James Bond purchases to add to my paperback collection.  But that's for another post...

"Shoot To Kill" From Singapore

In December 2015 my friend Yan travelled to Singapore.  While there she was kind enough to visit the Kinokuniya Bookstore and take some photos for me.

She noticed they had many copies of the UK version of Steve Cole's Young Bond novel "Shoot To Kill" on the shelves.  At the time that version of the cover was not available in Australia.  Six months later this cover is still not available here and according to staff at the many book stores I've visited there's no release date for it at this time.

So two weeks ago when Yan mentioned she was travelling to Singapore again I asked if she could visit Kinokuniya Bookstore and purchase a copy of "Shoot To Kill" for me.  Today was her first day back at work and sure enough she'd bought a copy, the last on the shelves in Singapore.

And here it is...  Thanks heaps Yan !

Singapore Book Store

In May of this year my wife and I spent two nights in Singapore. While we did a lot of sight seeing somehow we missed out on visiting what is said to be the best book store in that country, Kinokuniya Books.

So when my friend Yan said she was going to Singapore for a few days this week, I asked if she could grab a few photos of the store for me.  And here they are:

She even managed to find the new paperback version of Steve Cole's Young Bond novel "Shoot To Kill" which hasn't been released in Australia yet.
